Pythagoras Worksheet Sample

The questions in the resource pack start with a basic application of the Pythagorean formula. Famous Pythagorean triples are used in some of the first questions before other values are used.

As well as the standard image questions with basic triangles, there are also worksheets with situation questions. For example, calculating the length of rope required to reach a swimmer from a jetty.

Example Pythagoras Question

An aeroplane leaves airport A and travels north for 250 km to reach airport B before turning east for 320 km to reach airport C.  How far is airport C from airport A correct to the nearest km?

ANSWER

I always encourage the students in my classes to draw a sketch.
